Marble City 200

The Marble City 200 is a 200km course that will be leaving Kilkenny at 8.00am on 26th April 2009.  Sign on will be available from 7.30am.  The base in Kilkenny for this event is the Irish Wheelchair Association Building in Claddagh Court, College Road, Kilkenny.  Please see directions to this building below.

The route will first visit Gowran, Goresbridge and then into Borris, Co. Carlow.  The route will carry on to Kiltealy and will take in some beautiful scenery of Mount Leinster (you need not worry – we will be cycling by and not over Mount Leinster).  The route will pass through the heritage town of Bunclody and the slightly dipping into south Wicklow.  Carnew will be our next port of call and it’s near that we have our first control.  We then head onto Gorey – good roads in these parts will ensure an enjoyable ride.  We will only hit of the outskirt of Gorey and head for the R741 road.  The R741 will bring us to Castlebridge, where you will be greeted with soup and sandwiches.   We will then head for Adamstown, then to the N30 for a small spin and pass into the Kilkenny borders again.  Our first town in Kilkenny this time is the picturesque town of Inistioge, where we will head towards Kilkenny through Thomastown and Bennesttsbridge.  Back at the Irish Wheelchair Association building, there will be sandwiches and tea available for all participants - we wouldn't want you to go home to Mammy hungry!!
